Sandeep is a student of BFA at Banaras Hindu University. Back to his place, at Pilani, he visited a yarn weaving factory which is operated and run by local women. He saw women working in a dark atmosphere in the light of oil lamps.
The painting is made up of three elements- the lamp, the spinning wheel and colourful yarns. The lamp symbolises figure of the woman who is running the factory. She is drawn as the source of light for all the other women working in there. The spinning wheel is used to weave the threads and colorful yarns suggests the success of the women. Dark colors are used to portray that the women work dedicatedly irrespective of the not-so-favourable work environment
